ALTERTRIP participates in the tourist exhibition B-TRAVEL in Barcelona

The ALTER TRIP project participates in the tourism fair B-TRAVEL, which will take place from March 24 to 26 in Barcelona, aiming to highlight and promote the project activities and the tourism potential in the cross-border area.

The ALTER TRIP project with partners the Institute of Business and Exhibition Research and Development (IEE), the Ministry of Interior (Macedonia and Thrace Sector) and the Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities Bitola is preparing for the tourism fair in Barcelona, ​​Spain, which will take place in few days.

B-Travel is the largest exhibition event in Spain, which is recognized by UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) and is aimed at the final travel audience, such as the main travel agencies, hotels, cruise companies, transport companies and companies’ tourist services.

The ALTER TRIP project through its participation in the tourism fair seeks to promote sustainable and accessible tourism, inclusive. After all, accessible tourism motivates people to enjoy the tourist experience.

The vision of the project is to create and promote a network of accessible travel destinations in the cross-border region of Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia. It aims to inspire innovation, sustainable development and of course accessible tourism in natural and cultural heritage areas, involving local and regional stakeholders.

The main results of the project include the provision of comprehensive training in the areas of accessible tourism, innovation and sustainable development of natural and cultural heritage areas.

The Ministry of Interior (Sector of Macedonia and Thrace) – being responsible for project’s participation in the exhibition – has ensured the presentation of printed and audio-visual material for the Greek cross-border region in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization. At the same time, intending to create synergies at Program level, the audiovisual material to be shown at the exhibition includes videos of the Terra-Vino and Holy Water projects.

The project is co-funded by the European Union and by National resources of the participating countries within the Interreg IPA CBC program “Greece-Republic of North Macedonia” 2014-2020.
