Within the context of ALTER TRIP project, a Mobile application available for android and iOS, was developed by the Business and Exhibition Research and Development Institute (LB). The Mobile application offers accessible visiting tours around Thessaloniki to people with disabilities.

In particular, the application presents 10 historical monuments of the city, describing their history with text and audio. There is also a route map among these monuments designed for people with reduced mobility, fully wheelchair accessible, as well as for blind or partially sighted people and their guides.

The application is available in Greek and in English.

On the other side of the border, in the Republic of North Macedonia, PP3 – MOBILNOST Bitola developed a self-guided tour for persons with visual and hearing impairments, that encompasses 10 of the most significant historical monuments in Bitola. The tour can be found on the popular app IziTravel, and contains audio narrations in Macedonian and in English, as well as a video narration in Macedonian sign language.

The application is geo-tagged and connected with the tactile touristic signage and the tour guide printed in Braille through a QR code, also produced in the ALTER TRIP project. The signage contains 10 stainless steel panels with tactile images and descriptions in Braille in Macedonian and in English. The panels will be placed at an accessible location in front of the respective monuments, and the printed tour guide is available in 3 languages: Macedonian, Greek and English.
