ALTER TRIP at the B-TRAVEL tourism exhibition

  • by

The ALTER TRIP project participated in the tourism fair B-TRAVEL, which took place from March 24 to 26 in Barcelona.

The B-Travel 2023 exhibition ended with a triumph, as more than 25,480 visitors reached the venue. It included 118 exhibitors and had the support of 34,458 followers. But most notable is its international reach, with more than 35 countries represented and 500 co-exhibitors. In addition, the project ALTER TRIP was the only representative of Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia, reaching new travelers to the cross border area.

It is worth mentioning that B-Travel is one of the largest exhibition events in Spain, which is recognized by UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) and is aimed at the final travel audience, such as the main travel agencies, hotels, cruise companies, transport companies and tourism service companies.

The ALTER TRIP project was presented at the tourism fair with many travelers receiving important information about the nature of the project.

The exhibition was attended by representatives of all three project partners – the Institute for Business and Exhibition Research and Development (IEE), the Ministry of Interior (Sector Macedonia and Thrace) and the Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities Kara Hisar, Rezen and Bitola, who informed the public about the ALTER TRIP project, its objevtives and actions, as well as about the cross-border region, its tourist resources, its cultural and natural heritage, while promoting, at the same time, sustainable and accessible tourism.

It is worth mentioning that the ALTER TRIP project was the only form of representation for Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia at the exhibition, attracting a great number of visitors interested to receive information about the cross-border area.

The project’s participation in the exhibition was coordinated by the Ministry of the Interior (Macedonia and Thrace Sector), which ensured the presentation of printed and audio-visual material for the Greek cross-border region in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Tourism Promotion Organization. At the same time, through synergies at the Program level, the audiovisual material shown at the exhibition included videos of the Terra-Vino and Holy Water projects.

The project is co-funded by the European Union and by National resources of the participating countries within the Interreg IPA CBC program “Greece-Republic of North Macedonia” 2014-2020.
