{"id":89124,"date":"2023-01-30T09:21:00","date_gmt":"2023-01-30T09:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/altertrip.eu\/?p=89124"},"modified":"2023-01-30T09:31:38","modified_gmt":"2023-01-30T09:31:38","slug":"promotion-of-ict-tools-for-accessible-tourism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/altertrip.eu\/?p=89124","title":{"rendered":"Promotion of ICT Tools for Accessible Tourism"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p><strong>ALTERTRIP IPA INTERREG CBC Greece \u2013 Republic of North Macedonia 2014-2020, Promotion of ICT Tools for Accessible Tourism Intended for Persons with Disabilities<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The <strong>Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities of Bitola, Demir Hisar and Resen \u2013 MOBILNOST Bitola<\/strong>, the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> project beneficiary in the project \u201c<em>Alternative Touristic Experience \u2013 ALTER TRIP<\/em>\u201d, promoted ICT tools for accessible tourism intended for persons with disabilities, thus making Bitola the first city in the region with an accessible tourist offer at the city level. The tools were created by the experts of the Foundation for New Technologies, Innovations and Knowledge Transfer \u2013 GAUSS Institute from Bitola, as part of the <strong>ALTER TRIP project<\/strong> funded by <strong>the IPA INTERREG CBC Prorgamme \u201cGreece \u2013 Republic of North Macedonia 2014-2020\u201d. <\/strong>The promotion took place in the newly renovated Officer\u2019s House (House of Army) in Bitola on 2 December 2022, coinciding with the celebrations of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December), as well as the 35<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of MOBILNOST Bitola.<\/p>\n<p>The tools include tourist signage for the 10 most significant cultural and historical monuments in Bitola intended for persons with disabilities that were handed to the Municipality of Bitola to be placed in front of the selected cultural and historical monuments, application for mobile devices \u2013 tourist guide for Bitola for persons with disabilities (<a href=\"https:\/\/izi.travel\/en\/0f19-bitola-city-center-tour\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">City Bitola \u2013 Accessible Tour | izi.TRAVEL<\/a>), and printed tourist guide for Bitola for the blind and visually impaired. The signage that will be placed in front of the selected monuments contains tactile images and description in Macedonian and in English printed in Braille, and QR code for the application \u201cBitola \u2013 Accessible City Tour\u201d, containing written and audio narration in Macedonian and in English, as well as video narration in sign language. The printed tourist guides are in three languages \u2013 Macedonian, English and Greek \u2013 printed in Braille.<\/p>\n<p>Following the international motto of the persons with disabilities \u2013 nothing for us without us \u2013 throughout the production process the experts worked closely with persons with visual impairment (members of the Association of Blind Persons from Bitola).
